About me
My name is Charlie. I am based in Bristol and at 13 years old I have developed a growing interest in technology, electronics and coding. I started off with smaller projects, such as games and gradually made bigger and better projects, leading up to this service and website!
I started this upgrade service after I upgraded an old HP laptop that had been sitting in the cupboard for years before. In doing this, I realised that many people would have laptops that would never be used again but could be upgraded into responsive, useful machines. I was partially spurred on to start upgrading laptops after the end of Windows 10 support, which resulted in approximately 480 million kilograms of electronic waste. I realised that many of the people in posession of this e-waste are unaware that most of it could be upgraded and repurposed. In an attempt to stop all of these electronics going to waste, I created CharlieTECH.
